Life is far more like a video game than most people want to admit.

And just like a video game you can argue with the rules all you want. You can sit there screaming that your hitbox was on him, that it isn’t fair, that the game is broken. The game doesn’t care. The program doesn’t have a variable for your feelings about it. The rules are the rules.

Right?

Part of growing up – real growing up – is learning the difference between three kinds of rules. The ones that can be broken. The ones that can be bent. And the ones you absolutely do not fuck with.

And right now? We’re confused on all three.

We’re treating things that should be questioned like sacred untouchable truth. And we’re treating things that are genuinely foundational — like the First Amendment — like they’re optional. Like offense is a crime. Like words are violence. Like feeling uncomfortable is grounds for punishment.

We are now telling people they can go to jail for saying something offensive.
On a country founded on free speech.

Holy shit.

That’s not progress. That’s a reckoning building. And it’s coming — not because I’m being pessimistic, but because what’s happening right now is not sustainable. Systems that punish truth and reward fragility don’t hold. They break.

The question isn’t whether it changes. It’s whether you’re the kind of person who understood the game — and played it well — before the reset happened.
